You could run a soap opera on the ups and downs of Bordeaux Chateau ownership, the hatches, matches and dispatches, not to mention the legal battles between feuding legatees. Here, owners include an Englishman, various Gascons and other French, an Algerian bank and then the Webers, an American family domiciled in Argentina whose daughter married a Frenchman and whose grandchildren Bernard Audoy and his siblings now have charge of it. With a mixture of gravel and clay, the Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot have the majority with Cabernet Franc completing the mix. Cos Labory is a funny old Chateau. They often get it right and when they do the wine is great value. They can be a teensy bit inconsistent, but we`ll let you know when it`s worth buying. (CW 08/06/10)
