Le Mesnil-sur-Oger is a Grand Cru village in the heart of the Cote des Blancs and is home to some of Champagne`s greatest wines and producers. Among them the Union of Proprietaires Recoltants stands out as a provider of brilliant and super value Chardonnay wines. With a condition of membership that the vineyards be sited on terroir containing a high proportion of chalk, these rich wines show fabulous varietal characteristics. The growers are totally quality oriented and make both consisten multi-vintage wines as well as ripe vintage expressions when the growing season has been of sufficient quality and interest.
It is rare to find such a combination of affordability in fine Champagne and we highly recommend them. (CW 8/07/10)
