Fresh and vivacious, the first impression here is a rush of lemon, lime and bay notes. Quinta Apolonia is a young vine cuvee given a little lees-stirring and a short stay in older oak barrels, which brings focus to the sheer natural energy of Verdejo. The crisp attack is followed by a certain creamy weight on the mid-palate, then a renewed jolt of energy on the finish. Works as well as a standalone aperitif as it does beside a selection of classic white wine food matches. Try it against roast chicken. (NT 16/10/24)

Luis Gutierrez
The young 2023 Quinta Apolonia is varietal and fruit-driven, with aromas of white flowers and pollen, white fruit, elegant and nuanced. It`s clean, transparent and fresh, with moderate ripeness and 13.5% alcohol, with a dry, chalky mouthfeel. It`s their youngest white, a blend of Verdejo from 23 different plots on their estate property. 92 points

The 2023 Quinta Apolonia was aged mostly in concrete and stainless steel, with the remainder in larger vessels. Yellow in color, it opens with aromas of papaya, pastry cream and a hint of apple and water pear. The palate is broad and textural, showing malic tension and a creamy, voluptuous mouthfeel. A distinctive take on Verdejo with intensity and depth. 93 points
