The 2021 Chardonnay The Galvanised comes from 16-year-old trellised vines cultivated on clay soil, matured in used French oak. It has quite a rich bouquet with dried honey and almond notes, touches of yellow plum and lanolin emerging with time. The palate is a little honeyed on the entry like the Chenin Blanc, slightly lower in acidity; however, reminding me more of a decent California Chardonnay rather than Burgundy on the finish. Will be difficult to resist in its youth, although I am seeking a bit more nerve. 89 points
