Yu-Ki is Akiko`s nephew, the name meaning Courage or Big Tree. This vineyard, located 5 miles from the coast at 1000ft above sea-level, produces a distinctly cool-climate (yet clearly American) expression of Pinot Noir, with soft plum and red berry fruit, ripe yet fresh, and a touch of cherry liqueur on the finish. Time in bottle has added extra complexity and depth, with savoury spice and forest floor notes emerging - really complex, really enjoyable to drink. (JH 24/11/2022)

The 2017 Pinot Noir Yu-ki Estate comes from the far western Sonoma Coast, five miles from the Pacific and at 1,000 feet of elevation. The nose gives stewed black tea leaves, warm blackberries, nori, bergamot, rhubarb and potpourri with dried rose petal and warm earth hints. Light to medium-bodied, it has an intense, savory fruit core with lightly chalky tannins and integrated freshness, finishing long and layered. 93 points
