With Andrew Bettini
Terredora comes from one of the most illustrious wine families in southern Italy, if not the whole country. Angelo Mastroberardino founded the eponymous firm in 1878 and became responsible for a huge proportion of this tiny region's production. They have some of the best vineyards in Campania, these remote and dramatic volcanic hills behind Naples. They make fabulous wines from grape varieties unique to the region and originally planted by Greek colonisers two thousand years ago. Altitude is the key to great wine in the south so Terredora farm in three DOCG areas and from 500 to 700 metres altitude. Terredora was founded the same year as us when the Mastroberardino family decided to proceed in different directions. Terredora had to forge their own identity but secured the greatest vineyard sites from the family holdings.
Today we welcome Andrew Bettini from the estate who will take you through an informal tasting of these wines and happily answer questions about the estate, the wines and local food and culture. /CW
