Exploring seasonal Sake
In the shop from midday with Dora Szoke
Not just the noble drink of the samurai, sake has a traditional aspect using unique techniques for fermentation, yet matches foods from across the world and generally has manageable alcohol levels. Like wine made from grapes, sake made from rice has the ability to manifest all sorts of different characters and textures, with some flavours added with the addition of organically grown fruit.
Dora Szoke - a proper Sake Sommelier who really knows her stuff - will guide you through the lunchtime session after which you're stuck with us. But we will be earwigging like mad as we also have two new sakes to show you. Seasonality is a thing for us, so we've selected brews to match autumn foods. /CW
