70% Nebbiolo, 30% Vespolina. Surprising! Dry red fruit aromas, with pretty notes of rosewater, cinnamon and a very slight hint of aloe (or possibly tree-sap), all very well-integrated and composed. The palate is full of creamy cranberry and red cherry, with a touch of sumac... then the tannin kicks in! This is classic Nebbiolo-based winemaking, not for the faint-hearted, but exceptional with venison. (JH 26/08/2021)
