Antonio Galloni
Dried cherry, tea leaves, crushed flowers and mint are some of the signatures in Akiko Freeman`s 2014 Pinot Noir Yu-ki Estate. Stylistically and texturally, the Yuki is an ethereal wine, with lovely aromatic presence, but a bit less depth in the mid-palate than some of the other Pinots in the range. 90 points

Pale to medium ruby colored, the 2014 Pinot Noir Yu-ki Estate has a nose of kirsch, cranberries and violets with hints of underbrush and potpourri. Medium-bodied, it has elegantly perfumed red berry flavors and soft tannins, finishing with a refreshing herbal lift. 90 points

While compositionally similar to the Akiko`s, the nose is noticeably more reserved at present. There is solid volume to the delicious, round and nicely intense middle weight flavors that possess a caressing mouth feel while delivering equally good length if perhaps not quite the overall complexity, at least not today. Still, this is also a really lovely effort that should repay 6 to
