John Gilman
The 2013 Meursault “Perrières” from Maison Joseph Drouhin had not been bottled at the time of my December visit, with the wine still resting on its fine lees in the cellars. The wine is really vibrant and classy in this vintage, offering up a superb bouquet of apple, tangerine, almonds, a touch of iodine, complex, chalky minerality, citrus zest and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and rock solid at the core, with vibrant acids, lovely focus and grip and a very long, youthful and perfectly balanced finish. A superb example. 2018-2040. 93+ points
