The 2010 Les Pagodes de Cos has a lifted and vibrant bouquet with red and black fruit, tobacco and humidor scents, just a hint of desiccated orange peel in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, quite Pauillac in style with pencil lead/graphite notes infusing the black fruit towards the finish that shows good body and persistence. Excellent. Tasted blind at Farr Vintners 10-Year On Bordeaux horizontal. Drink 2020-2034. 92 points

(a blend of 62% cabernet sauvignon and 38% merlot; 3.5 pH; IPT 73; 14.1% alcohol Bright, full red. Perfumed aromas of fresh blackberry, violet and cedar. Dense, sweet and juicy, with bright acidity lifting the flavors of ripe red berries, exotic dried herbs and graphite. With its fine-grained texture, very sweet tannins and excellent length, this sexy midweight offers impeccable balance and lovely purity of fruit. Without question one of the best second wines of the vintage. In fact, I think it will turn out to be the best Pagodes ever. 88-90 points
