After a previous life as a teacher, and some years spent living in Spain, Neil saw the light and joined Uncorked and the wine trade in 2014. He has genuinely never looked back. He had form, with years of wine tasting behind him, two victories in inter-university wine tasting challenges and a long-since abandoned wine blog. When not at work, he'll be juggling family responsibilities while looking for an excuse to open a nice bottle. He also has a secret research interest in Iron Age hillforts, and reckons he has visited more of these than most professional archaeologists. In 2022, he was elected a fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland.
