2024 de La Dauphine (Fronsac)

Media Reviews

Jane Anson

Inky plum, floral aromatics, slate-textured tannins with cherry pit and pomegranate fruits. 40% of the usual production after hail in June, 3.5ph, aged across amphoras, barrels and large oak casks, harvest September 24 to October 4. Organic and biodynamic certified. Lovely juicy finish, good value. 92 points

Antonio Galloni

The 2024 La Dauphine is another impressive wine for the year. In 2024 La Dauphine emerges only from parcels on the limestone plateau, a decision that resulted in only the best 15% being bottled. Dark cherry, plum, mocha, new leather, licorice and dried herbs all build in the glass, framed by mineral undertones that wrap it all up in style. Tasted two times. 91-93 points

Neal Martin

The 2024 Chateau de La Dauphine was reduced to 30,000 bottles this year due to yields at 25 hl/ha. The selection came only from two parts on the plateau. It has a pretty bouquet with light violet scents and neatly integrated oak. The palate is well balanced with supple tannins and a dash of white pepper toward the finish. This is a successful 2024 that will give pleasure over the next decade or more. 90-92 points
