Jane Anson
Tannins are grippy on the opening, cutting into the raspberry and red cherry fruit. Grilled coffee bean notes and campfire smoke add depth through the mid palate but this is a challenging vintage for such a consistent and impressive wine. 3.6 pH. Harvest 19 September to 8 October. 40 hl/ha. 30% new oak for ageing. 89 points

The 2024 Carbonnieux is floral and aromatic but also very light, with only modest structure and complexity. 86-88 points
Neal Martin
The 2024 Carbonnieux has a light nose with brambly red fruit, mocha and earthy tones. It is calling out for a bit more vigor, but it is clean and shows no signs of greenness. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins and gentle grip. This Carbonnieux works because it has not been pushed too hard. Though it`s short, this retains balance and focus. Fine. 89-91 points
