An extremely rare variety, 6 months in old oak. Notably reductive - not uncommon for wines on volcanic soil. Reduction is a reaction between oxygen in the air and trace elements in the wine, aeration lessens the effect over time. There are pretty citrus and stonefruit aromas which emerge from beneath the haze. The palate is fresh and saline, smoky reduction still in evidence, adding a mineral character to the wine. Fresh stonefruit, pear and lime zest, and a refreshing finish. Fun, fascinating, unique. (JH 24/10/2024)
