The dash of Merlot, and a liberal dousing of smoked oak notes give this plenty of spice shot through the rich damson fruits. Chocolate and mocha notes accompany, and the tannins are tight but confident. A touch bitter on the finish, but there is plenty to enjoy here. 90 points
