Neal Martin
The 2020 Gevrey-Chambertin La Perriere 1er Cru contains 50% whole bunch and 20% new oak, on deep soils, vines that suffer very little stress. It offers mainly red fruit on the nose with raspberry and cranberry, hints of wet clay/potter’s wheel. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit, fine structured, a little compactness towards the finish, so afford it five or six years in bottle before broaching. 89-91 points
