The 2019 Beaune Clos des Aigrots 1er Cru Blanc comes from a single hectare parcel, the top part below the forest is planted to Chardonnay and the rest to Pinot Noir. It has a generous bouquet, the 10% new oak lends a little more intensity. The palate is lovely, orange pith and touches of mandarin, very harmonious with just the right amount of bitterness on the finish. Very fine. 90-92 points

This wine is made in a slightly different way from the other whites: the grapes are crushed and then processed in a vertical press. Clear pale colour, this is lovely with an extra degree of intensity and a rich white fruit behind. A hint of sucrosity at this stage, but the bone structure will win out. 91-93 points

The 2019 Beaune 1er Cru Clos des Aigrots Blanc is bright and expressive, soaring from the glass with scents of Anjou pear, citrus oil, white flowers and hazelnuts. Medium to full-bodied, lively and precise, it`s nicely concentrated, with brisk acids and a long, mineral finish. 91-93 points
