One of Greece`s most emblematic red varieties, native to the mountain slopes of Nemea (where they allow no other variety the local PDO), Agiorgitiko can produce fabulous reds, when properly looked after. At Gaia, they prune the vines strictly to focus the plants` natural exuberance. The results are splendid; a rich, ripe, fruit-driven herbal red with a touch of oak. Fine tannins and elegant structure make a wine that is very enjoyable now, but could age attractively for some years to come. (NT 05/10/18)
