Eric Guido
An understated bouquet of crushed woodland berries, cinnamon, cloves and flowery undergrowth lifts up from the 2015 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva. It’s silky and pliant in feel, offering a mix of tart cherry, strawberry and saline minerals that creates a sense of inner tension toward the close. A mix of licorice and purple-tinged florals resonates throughout the long finish, along with a gentle tug of fine tannin. Lisini really did a wonderful job of capturing the beauty of the 2015 vintage without allowing its power to overwhelm the fruit. 93 points
