The Asseily Family have crafted a delicious wine in their 2014 Chateau Biac. The Merlot-dominated blend (85% Merlot, 10% Petit Verdot & 5% Cabernet Franc) is showing gorgeous rich fruit character, coupled with supple, integrated tannins. It has poise and elegance and, whilst it will continue to age with grace, it is in a wonderful drinking window now. With its through-line of acidity, it is a marvellous pairing with lamb. Unlike its more powerful younger brother (2015 Biac), this wine will be rewarded with more subtle flavourings as supposed to anything too strongly charred. (TH 17/05/2022)
