Once upon a time, way back in early 2020, plans were afoot in the shop for a grand tour: an evening tasting showing one wine for every major commune in the Cote d'Or. Bottles were set aside in our wine fridge, an announcement was primed and ready. Then Covid hit, and all talk of evening tastings went out the window for some time, while the fine Burgundies in question slept soundly at cellar temperature. Four and a half years later, with these forgotten bottles closing in on their peaks, we're unearthing them for a very special, unrepeatable tasting.
Most of the wines date back to the terrific 2015 and 2016 vintages; some are from some rightly cult producers whose wines are increasingly hard to find. We've even added a few extra bottles to fill in some blanks from more recent vintages. An evening to dampen even the driest of Januaries... grab your tickets while you can!
