ColleMassari is located on the slopes of Mount Amiata, not far from the Tuscan coast and about halfway between Grosseto and Montalcino, for those of you who know the area. It is a large estate though is still farmed organically. We tend not to think of Tuscany as a white wine area, but the freshness and intensity of the Montecucco Vermentino has won us over and it is a combination of altitude, which is about 300 meters and breezes from the Tyrrhenian sea, as well as the fractured sandstone soils that give us these zingy wines.
