A blend of fruit from 4 small vineyards around the village, 3 of which sit on quite deep clay soils. The fruit has all been destemmed and there is no new oak. This is extremely good at its level, quite intense, with notes of orange, raspberry, redcurrant and sandalwood led along by a crunchy, fresh acidity and fine but not inconsequential tannins. Excellent. (NT 06/12/24)

The 2023 Fixin Village, taken from large foudre, has a come-hither nose with pure Morello cherries and wild strawberry scents, plus a touch of briar in the background. The palate offers sucrosity on the entry, with candied orange peel infusing the red fruit and a touch of white pepper toward the finish. Generous and playful, this is a Fixin to enjoy after a year in bottle. 89-91 points

Bottled yesterday. A glowing energetic purple, a little blackcurrant leaf reduction, but there is energy behind. Brisk fresh cherries wrapped in a little oak, these may be early days but the 2023 Fixin is very promising. The tannins are fine this year. 90 points
