The 2021 Alvarinho, the so-called unoaked "classico" as it is colloquially known, is dry (three grams of residual sugar and 6.4 of total acidity) and comes in at 12.1% alcohol. This is a lighter-styled vintage, but fruit-forward, fresh and tasty. It is ready to roll right now. In fact, it is drinking perfectly. There is not much aggression here at all, nor a lot of tension on the finish. It should still age well, but I wouldn`t put this one down as one of those very long-term Soalheiros from days gone by. It should still hold throughout the decade, maybe more. 89 points
