With Angela Reddin, Marketing Director, writer and educator
July seems by stealth to have turned into biodynamic month as well as Riesling month and apparently even a summer month. And so it is that we have our second offering from a biodynamic producer in a fortnight and a tutored tasting of their wines by somebody intimately involved.
Angela Reddin is a valued long-time member of the Association of Wine Educators, a committee member of the Circle of Wine Writers, an accredited BIVB Burgundy Ambassador and Educator, and a panel chair at the International Wine and Spirits Competition. Oh, and following a long association with the winery, she's Marketing Director of Felton Road, and has previously had more than a hand in its making. She will show the range of wines and give you as much background as you like on Central Otago, New Zealand, biodynamics and Pinot Noir.
Felton Road is a world-class Pinot Noir producer and none too shabby at either Riesling or Chardonnay as you'll see. You have a true New World terroir and one that is very different from limestone Burgundy, yet get a complex, fine and ageworthy set of wines. The estate comprises different clones of each vine planted on carefully selected plots of land to maximise potential and with environmentally friend frost protection measures built in prior to planting. /CW
