The Colonel, the widow and haute couture
21st century Margaux
While Chateau Palmer has been number two in the Margaux commune for ages and is essentially of first growth quality, Rauzan-Ségla is a relative upstart, having been brought to prominence by the excellence of John Kolasa's winegrowing skills under the ownership of the Wertheimers during which time Rauzan has realised the full potential of its terroir. How will these two properties compare side by side and how do the vintages stack up?
We will taste:
Rauzan-Segla 2008, 2004, 2002 and 2001
Palmer 2006, 2004, 2002 and 2000
