The wine region of Bordeaux has inspired a great many other wine regions throughout the world - to the extent that Cabernet Sauvignon is now the most widely-planted (wine) grape variety in the world, closely followed by its compatriot, Merlot. There are so many imitators out there, in fact, that we have had to work very hard to whittle down the selection! We have assembled a strong lineup of contenders to take on the might of Bordeaux - as well as a few fine examples from the region to defend their honour.
This tasting is the first in our France vs. the World series, in which the wine regions of France take on their counterparts other parts of the world. Each flight will be presented blind, to reduce the effects of favouritism. Join us to see if Bordeaux truly can stand up to some of the best the rest of the world has to offer...
