Recent releases and a special mixed case offer

When a couple of friends with intimate knowledge of the world of sherry realised that some very special casks were lying forgotten about in the cellars of Jerez, they took action. Starting with a cask of Amontillado, they bottled the wine for themselves, and quickly found a following of hardcore fans. That was 2005, and what began as a personal passion became an ongoing project, Equipo Navazos. As independent bottlers, they move among bodegas and seek out extraordinary, individual sherries and release them as part of a numbered series of bottlings.

We've been following the wines since 2008, but with rave reviews in the very latest Wine Advocate stoking renewed interest, we've assembled a special mixed case of six of the current single cask (or “Bota”) releases covering a range of styles in the hope of bringing them to a wider audience. For sherry (or indeed, Equipo Navazos) novice or aficionado alike, this a box of wines of astonishing depth and complexity - not to mention considerable age and rarity. /NT
