Christmas at Uncorked

Christmas tasting, hours, ordering, help
And a tribute to David Bowie

Christmas. A time of contemplation, reflection, and forgiveness. And as we reflect on the year just passed I think we may be forgiven for contemplating a drink.

Last tasting of 2016
Join us tomorrow for our last Friday tasting of 2016. There will be sparkle and there will be festive spirit. There will even be wine. The sparkle comes in the form of Champagne Gosset and the festive spirit, Cognac Frapin. UK agent and long-serving brand ambassador Guy Nightingale will be on hand to pour, to entertain and to answer questions - such as, how did Hillary manage that? How did Iceland manage that? And then what about Nigel blo*!+ Farage? No wait, sorry, Champagne and spirit related questions only. Guy will be with us from midday to 2:30 and delighted to share his wares.

Christmas opening
Our Bishopsgate shop will be open normal hours (Monday to Friday, 9:30am to 7pm) except for early closing - 4pm - on Friday 23 December. Wednesday 28 December and Thursday 29 December we will be open 10am to 6pm and Friday 30 December 10am to 4pm. Normal hours resume Tuesday 3 January.

Last orders!
If anyone out there is still man enough to tackle the compliance issues involved with corporate gift-giving, we will be delighted to receive multi-despatch orders next week in order that we have the weekend of 17/18 December to assemble, package and address consignments. For simple, one-off kinds of despatch, our normal next day service remains in operation throughout, though the more cautious customers among you may wish to leave a day or two in hand just in case the seasonal mayhem takes its toll on the APC Overnight network.

Where Are We Now?
It's Christmas, we're Under Pressure, and looking for help - especially with local deliveries. Absolute Beginners welcome, though Breaking Glass isn't. Young Americans, China Girls, Heroes, we don't discriminate (though maybe not Diamond Dogs). Pay isn't especially generous and a week may seem more like Five Years than Golden Years. Dancing in the Street is fine, so long as the delivery note has been signed. To apply, speak to Aladdin Sane. /AR
