“Le Pétrus des Cotes de Bordeaux”
- Patrick Leon

It seldom happens in one's lifetime that we witness the emergence of a new property that has the passion and knowhow behind it to become legendary. The type of property that you can tell your grandkids you bought in the first vintage. This bijoux property has had accolades heaped upon it from legendary Bordeaux big wigs. Jean Moueix calls calls it “A magical vineyard... the wines of Chateau Biac have an elegance, balance and length which put them in a class unexpected for an Appellation Cotes de Bordeaux.”

Following a massive overhaul by Tony and Youmna Asseily, Chateau Biac are making beautifully crafted wines that are causing their peers to rethink their notions of the Bordeaux appellation system. They've spared no expense in the complete redevelopment of the winery and vineyards and hired a crack team of ringers to produce the most profound wine being made in the Cotes de Bordeaux. They've even persuaded oenologist Patrick Leon (ex-Mouton Rothschild) to come out of retirement and stake his reputation on the Biac terroir; he says, “one of the foremost wine estates of Bordeaux. It is a secret garden, an authentic terroir , begging to reveal its potential.”

Today, we extend a unique invitation to taste these wines before all those pesky journalists, and decide for yourself. These examples of southwest facing vines, gravel and limestone soil and a state-of-the-art, gravity-fed winery, will be open from midday. /CC
