Fratelli Alessandria has been in existence for a couple of hundred years, making pure, expressive, traditional wines. Some of you may have tasted the supple, ripe, delicious 2009s in the shop - now we are delighted to offer the heralded 2010s.

In 2001 the arrival of the fifth generation, Vittore, led to one of the most significant improvements in quality in the estate's history. Yields dropped, and viticulture became much more precise, which gave the vineyards more life.

The Gramolere makes for a slightly more forward style, more approachable initially, but the terroir of the Monvigliero, Verduno's greatest vineyard, shows through in the wine, transmitting the vineyard directly into your glass. /CW
