Damson and iris, bacon fat and candlewax, terracotta tiles baking in the sun - this is a beautiful, serious expression of Priorat. There`s a creamy richness from barrel elevage across the mid-palate, and a quartz-rock minerality that comes across in the finish. In 2021, September rains meant that the late-ripening Carignan vines planted at the bottom of the slope didn`t ripen at all. That means this vintage is all about the Garnacha, which was harvested before the rains - mid slope Garnacha clinging to narrow terraces on the limestone, and upper slope Garnacha planted on Priorat`s iconic licorella (slate and quartz) soils.
