Serio & Battista Borgogno
From a vineyard planted in 2016, down the hill from Cannubi. South/southwest facing, relatively cool due to the shadows cast by the surrounding hillsides. Savoury, figgy aromas, delicate, with a whisper of cigar box in the background. The palate carries the same savoury notes, with rosewater and potpourri; pithy, genteel tannins add elegant structure. A cola note from a small percentage of new oak adds complexity to the finish. (JH 30/01/25)
