Otherwise known as Grenache! Pretty red cherry and cherry liqueur aromas, crushed blackberries and strawberry cream; the palate shows more of the black fruit, with ripe plum and sweet cherry - reminiscent of of black forest gateau. Finishes warm and winsome, a relatively delicate example of the variety. (JH 02/11/2023)

The 2021 Cannonau di Sardegna Nau grumbles up with a blend of wild herbs, blackberries and violets that form a dark and savory bouquet. This is surprisingly ripe in style, yet with vibrant acidity to balance as juicy wild berry fruits easily flow across the palate. Black raspberry and cassis linger as the 2021 finishes long yet wonderfully fresh and redeemingly dry. 90 points
