Rebecca Gibb
A weighty style, the 2016 Roche aux Moines has rich fruit concentration that`s starting to develop bottle-aged characters of lanolin and the merest whiff of kerosene while the apple fruit of youth lingers on the lengthy finish. There`s an appetizing bitterness to Chenin Blanc and it`s here on the finish, acting in combination with the malic acid to provide drive and length. This is at an interesting stage in its evolution, heading into maturity but still hanging on to its tangy youth. 94 points
