The 2019 Poujeaux has a very delineated, focused bouquet of blackberry, cedar, mint and light tea leaf scents, one of the most complex I have encountered from this great estate in recent years. The medium-bodied palate is fresh, vibrant and grippy, with slightly chalky tannins and a saline, persistent finish. Quite structured and broody, this Moulis deserves ample time in bottle. 94 points

Brambled autumnal fruit on the nose, this is good stuff from a property that is consistently impressive. Not as fully powered or concentrated as its 2016, but as ever it offers a more serious and restrained take on the vintage than some of its Moulis siblings, and as such delivers wines that are built to last. Always extremely classic Left Bank in feel, and it achieves that feat again here. Plenty of tannin grip, clear austerity on the finish. 92 points

Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2019 Poujeaux has an oh-so-tempting nose of blackcurrant pastilles, redcurrant jelly and warm plums with touches of pencil lead, underbrush, cinnamon toast and wild thyme. The medium-bodied palate has a fair bit of chewiness giving way to loads of lovely, ripe fruit with soft acidity, finishing savory. 86-88 points
