Julia Harding
They don’t own any vineyards but the base of their vintage port is sourced from Quinta de Vale de Muros. Deep crimson with soft cherry rim. Redder than many this year. More spicy than the Churchill`s and less obviously sweet-fruited. More tangy in fruit character. Tighter, fresher and more tannic finesse, supple but highly structured. Long, elegant, moreishly grippy on the finish. The spirit fully integrated. Excellent combination of succulence and structure, all covered in dark spicy fruit. Power, length and harmony. 17.5 points
