Lisa Perrotti-Brown
The 2016 Chardonnay Ryo-fu has compelling notes of baker`s yeast, candied ginger, allspice and toasted almonds over a core of warm apricots, lemon pie and pink grapefruit. Medium-bodied with a great intensity of savory-laced stone fruit flavors, it has a lively line of acid and long, spicy finish. 806 cases produced. 91 points

Freeman`s 2016 Chardonnay Ryo-fu is a pretty appellation-level Chardonnay. Light tropical overtones add nuance in a mid-weight, gracious Chardonnay that is already quite expressive. Apricot, tangerine, chamomile and lightly honeyed notes grace the exquisite finish. Vineyard sites are Charles Heintz, KR Ranch and Searby. 91 points
