A five week exploration of the world's prime regions

It's spring and as sap, energy levels and daylight hours all rise, we offer a chance to taste and learn a bit in convivial company. This is both a fine way to achieve self-improvement and spend an evening having fun. So the Educator has arranged an introductory course comprising 5 sessions, each of two hours and with six wines to taste. You receive a course manual with space for your notes together with maps and plenty of useful information. Who should take this course? Anybody who wants to feel more confident when faced with a list of wines, for a start. Then if you enjoy wine and want to discover more about its history and production this is for you.

Localism, tradition and terroir

Valpolicella is arguably the heart and soul of the Veneto, but thanks to the demands of the bulk market has, for many people, become a devalued brand. If that's your experience of the region we're going to shake your foundations with some of the world's most complex and imaginative wines. We have a token white, but our focus is the finest reds and our evening is constructed around a serious look at one of the greatest winegrowers of the 20th/21st centuries. Giuseppe Quintarelli was Valpolicella's conscience and inspiration. This is a rare chance to taste a range of his wines.

On the tasting:

2016 Quintarelli Bianco Secco Ca` del Merlo
2016 Corte Sant`Alda Valpolicella Ca Fiui
2016 Novaia Valpolicella
2014 Corte Sant`Alda Valpolicella Campi Magri
2009 Quintarelli Valpolicella Classico
2013 Inama Bradisismo Cabernet
2013 Quintarelli Primofiore
2013 Adalia Amarone della Valpolicella

2010 Corte Sant`Alda Amarone Mithas
2008 Quintarelli Rosso del Bepi
