Stephan Reinhardt
2/3 Chardonnay and 1/3 Auxerrois from the Clos Windsbuhl blend, the 2013 Vin de Table Zind is a serious and characterful white from seashell limestone (Muschelkalk) with characteristic smoky citrus flavors on the nose and a thrilling, really electrifying mineral acidity on the palate. Pure, piquant and also complex on the palate, this medium-powerful but extremely drinkable wine is an ambitious Best Buy and the best entrance into the Zind-world I can imagine. Super salty aftertaste, stimulating as if it were a Blanc de Blancs Champagne from a top terroir -- which is the case here. 90 points
