Executed by Giuseppe Gorelli and Gigliola Giannetti, the 2012 Rosso di Montalcino is a gorgeous, albeit simple red wine that performs beautifully on the palate thanks to its rich texture and density. The appearance is marked by dark concentration and the aromas move from dried cherry to easy tobacco tones. The mouthfeel is sweet and plush, backed by a distant hint of tannic astringency. This is a great food wine especially with fatty dishes like grilled sausage. Drink: 2015-2018. 90 points
