Made from Montepulciano, the main grape of Abruzzo and not a million miles away from those wines, this is grown at a slightly lower altitude and shows a tad more richness. Like most central Italian reds, this Marche wine has great freshness and a dark cherry character, with a sprinkling of herby stardust. (CW 29/08/14)
