One of the finest crus bourgeois, Chateau Senejac has made several great leaps forward in the last fifteen years. Arguably the greatest was the appointment of Alfred Tesseron's Pontet-Canet team to oversee the estate in 2008. 2009 was the first vintage under biodynamic certification and 2010 really shows what the terroir here can achieve.

Jean-Michel Comme was the driving force behind Tesseron's and Pontet-Canet's conversion to biodynamics and leads the estate work at Senejac. His expertise in biodynamics and the low yields and relatively high vine densities here realises Senejac's potential superbly.

Senejac often represents extraordinary value. There are very few biodynamic wines on the market for under a tenner, let alone such a delicious one as this. If you think you've fallen out of love with Bordeaux, this is the wine to seduce you all over again. If you think real Bordeaux has to cost hundreds a case then think again. Or if you just love great value, then a case of this is for you. We were bowled over by this and you will be too. /CW
