Juicy red Burgundy from a year that gave wines with a lot of 2010 character and a bit of extra flesh and matter, so in fact these are drinking a little better than many 10s just now. Guiton is a fresh arrow in our Burgundy quiver and on current form we’ll be following them for a while. Guillaume’s vineyards are just beyond Volnay and Pommard as you go up out of Beaune and lean, if anywhere, towards a more delicate Volnay character. They are very pretty with red fruit and show great finesse. (CW 23/05/14)
