1982 Teaninich, AD Rattray 29 yo 52.2%

While some distilleries only got electricity in the 1950s, Teaninich impressed many by installing both it and telephonic communication in the nineteenth century. This highland, situated north of Aberdeen and near Dalmore, is the backbone of the Johnnie Walker blends and as such has rarely been released as a single malt. This aged edition has plenty of tropical fruit, butterscotch and balsamic. (CW 10/12/12)
