Stephen Tanzer
(negociant wine): Bright medium red. Sweet aromas of strawberry and raspberry. Juicier and tighter than the Fixin, showing good cut and definition to its red fruit and floral flavors. In a ripe, nicely fruity style, with lively acidity. This was 12.9% potential alcohol, chaptalized to 13%, according to Jean-Nicolas Meo. 87-90 points

Here the wood is slightly more pronounced though not so much that it dominates the pungently earthy nose of underbrush, sauvage and dark berry fruit nose that is very Gevrey in basic character. The mineral-inflected and delineated middle weight flavors are shaped by ripe tannins before culminating in a clean, cool and linear finish. This is a fine Gevrey villages. 88-91 points
