Delightful notes of lime and pea complement the naturally appley character of Chardonnay. The creamy texture seems at odds with what we expect from Chablis, yet this wine also manages to have all the electric, tense, flinty energy of the genre. Never mind the fact that the definitive French wine guide La Revue du vin de France gives Droin top marks alongside only Dauvissat and Raveneau, my partner enjoys this wine as much as I do, which is clearly far more important. Not only is this a versatile food matcher, it is utterly classic with fish and shellfish. (NT 29/04/16)

(already filtered; part of this wine has been bottled; done entirely in stainless steel). Pale yellow with a green tinge. Slightly metallic aromas of lemon and mint. Fruity and creamy, with yellow peach and banana flavors showing a faint bitter edge today. Finishes with a saline intensity. No shortage of concentration for village wine 87-88 points

The 2013 Chablis is gorgeous. Brilliant, precise and beautifully articulated from start to finish, the 2013 impresses for both its balance and potential. Sweet floral notes meld into white peach, mint and slate, all in a bright, crisp style best suited for near and medium term drinking. There is plenty to like here.

A slightly riper nose also exhibits good Chablis character with its layered mélange of green fruit, mineral reduction and floral hints. There is good mid-palate density to the generously proportioned and fleshy medium weight flavors that terminate in a saline and oyster shell-inflected finale. This too is sol id for its level. 88-90 points
