1999 Bowmore, AD Rattray 14 yo 58.8% (Islay)

Bowmore may be the ‘capital’ of Islay, but it is a hamlet with a distillery, between a peat moor, the sea and the River Laggan. For those of us who love well-peated malts, Bowmore is one of the best there is, and this bottling is a perfect expression of its terroir. Smoke on the briny sea air: bonfires on the beach.
