Montalcino - A unique terroir hosting a unique vine
Sited at the head of a valley that opens onto the Tyrrhenian sea you'll find a thousand foot high vineyard area that is hot in summer heat, but cold in August nights. It's spread out below the small town of Montalcino. The grape variety most favoured here is the Grosso clone of the Sangiovese grpe and many would argue that this is the best area in the world for this vine to produce its best. (CW 28/01/15)
